I used to think wrinkles were something I couldn’t do much about. I’d see fine lines pop up around my eyes and mouth, and just figured they were here to stay.

But after trying a bunch of skincare products, home remedies, and small daily changes, I found some things that actually helped.
These are the face wrinkle remedies that worked for me—most of them are simple, and a few made a bigger difference than I ever expected.
1. Sleeping on My Back Instead of My Side

I never thought my sleeping position mattered until I learned that pressing your face into a pillow night after night can cause wrinkles. I trained myself to sleep more on my back, and I started waking up with fewer crease marks on my cheeks.
It wasn’t easy at first, but using a soft pillow and a satin pillowcase helped. Over time, this little switch made a real difference in how my skin looked in the morning.
2. Applying Aloe Vera Gel Before Bed
I started using pure aloe vera gel on my face at night, especially around my eyes and smile lines. I just smooth a small amount on clean skin and let it soak in overnight.
It helps keep my skin soft, and I noticed that the fine lines looked a little less harsh after a few weeks. It’s super gentle, and I love that it’s something natural I can use every day.
3. Using Sunscreen Daily (Even When I’m Indoors)

I used to only wear sunscreen on beach days—but skipping it was a big mistake. Now I use a lightweight SPF on my face every morning, even if I’m just staying home.
Sun damage is one of the biggest reasons for wrinkles, and once I made this a habit, my skin stayed smoother and didn’t get as dry or tight during the day. I keep a bottle near my toothbrush so I never forget.
4. Adding a Vitamin C Serum to My Morning Routine
I’d heard about Vitamin C being good for skin, but once I started using a serum daily, I finally saw what the hype was about. I apply a few drops after washing my face in the morning, and it helps brighten my skin and smooth out some of the lines.
It also protects against damage from the sun and pollution. After a few weeks, my skin looked more even and less tired.
5. Moisturizing Twice a Day—No Skipping

I used to only moisturize when my skin felt dry, but I’ve learned it’s better to stay ahead of the dryness. Now I use a gentle, hydrating face cream every morning and night.
When my skin is well-moisturized, the lines are less noticeable, and my face feels softer overall. It also helps my makeup go on smoother. Keeping this habit made my skin look plumper and less creased.
6. Doing a Simple Facial Massage with My Fingers
I started gently massaging my face a few minutes each night while applying moisturizer. It helps boost circulation and relaxes the muscles that scrunch up during the day (like around my forehead and mouth). I use upward motions and just take my time—it’s relaxing too. I feel like it helps keep my skin firmer and more lifted over time.
7. Staying Hydrated All Day

I used to go hours without drinking water and wonder why my skin looked tired and dull. Now I carry a water bottle with me and make sure I’m sipping throughout the day.
When I’m well-hydrated, my skin looks fuller and the fine lines don’t stand out as much. It’s one of the easiest things I do that really helps from the inside out.
8. Using Retinol (But Starting Slow)
Retinol sounded scary at first, but once I eased into it, it became one of my favorite tools. I started with a gentle over-the-counter retinol and used it just two nights a week at first.
It helped fade some of my deeper lines and made my skin look smoother overall. I always follow it with a good moisturizer to prevent dryness. Now I use it regularly, and it’s made a noticeable difference.
9. Cutting Back on Sugar and Processed Foods
This one was tough, but I noticed a real change in my skin when I started eating fewer sugary snacks. I still treat myself now and then, but I try to eat more fresh foods, healthy fats, and greens. My skin looks less puffy, and the lines around my eyes and mouth aren’t as pronounced. What I eat really does show up on my face.
10. Wearing Sunglasses to Prevent Squinting

I used to squint a lot in the sun without even realizing it. Then I noticed those little lines forming around my eyes. Now I never leave the house without sunglasses.
They protect my eyes and keep me from scrunching up my face, especially on bright days. It’s such a simple fix, but it really helps slow down those fine lines from forming.
11. Using a Humidifier at Night
During colder months, the dry air in my house made my skin feel tight and more wrinkly. I started using a small humidifier in my bedroom, and it keeps the air from drying out my skin overnight. I wake up with softer, more hydrated skin, and it feels less creased in the morning.
12. Limiting How Often I Wash My Face
I used to wash my face every time it felt oily or dirty, but I didn’t realize I was stripping away natural oils that help protect my skin. Now I stick to washing just twice a day—morning and night—with a gentle cleanser. It helps keep my skin balanced and prevents it from drying out, which makes wrinkles stand out less.
13. Applying Eye Cream Before Bed

I used to skip eye cream completely, but once I started using a little dab under my eyes every night, I noticed those tiny lines weren’t as noticeable. I go for one with ingredients like hyaluronic acid or peptides. It helps keep the delicate skin around my eyes soft and less puffy, especially in the morning.
14. Getting Better Sleep (And More of It)
When I’m sleep-deprived, my skin shows it. The lines look deeper, and my whole face just looks more tired. I’ve made sleep more of a priority, aiming for 7 to 8 hours a night. When I do, my skin looks fresher, and I feel better too. Rest really is a form of skincare.
15. Sticking to a Routine and Being Patient
This is probably the biggest one. I used to expect overnight results, but I’ve learned that the best changes come slowly. Sticking to a simple routine—cleansing, moisturizing, using SPF and a few good products—has worked way better than chasing every new trend.
My skin feels healthier, and the lines don’t bother me as much anymore because I know I’m taking care of it the right way.
